ubiquitous



I guess the DEA reads the free papers. Here's a rundown of the medical marijuana related ads in two of LA's free papers. The January 18th issue of City Beat had 19 marijuana related ads. The number of marijuana ads in City Beat is second only to their adult services (hookers/phone sex) ads. The LA Weekly, which is about three times larger than the Beat has a more diverse stable of advertisers (and I imagine higher advertising rates) but there were still 22 marijuana related ads in the latest issue.

City Beat ~ 1/18/07, 56 pages

15 (including one duplicate) for dispensaries, care givers, care centers, farmacy (actual spelling), collectives, co-ops (aka pot shops)
3 ads for Medical Marijuana Evaluations (aka prescriptions, A Dr's RX is required in order to obtain medical marijuana)
1 for hydroponic supplies (for Home gardening/grow your own)

LA Weekly ~ 1/18/07, 172 pages

17 ads for dispensaries
4 ads for Medical Marijuana Evaluations
1 for hydroponic supplies
