It was the sleep number vs. the tempur pedic during the commercial breaks for, Hooked: Illegal Drugs and How They Got That Way.

Hooked, has factoids galore including:

* The history of patent medicines. "It'll cure what ails ya and some that don't. Careful Ma the main ingredient is cocaine, you don't wanna get hooked."



* There's a 17,000% mark up on cocaine.

* Heroin was originally marketed by the Bayer corporation as a cough supprescent. It was also used to treat morphine addiction.



* Sears Roebuck once sold heroin kits: two syringes, heroin & a handy tin case, all for $2. The civilized way to get your scag.

* Ecstasy, originally went by the name, "empathy" & was avaiable in bars in the 1970's. Pyschotherapists touted it's benifits, describing it as a year's worth of therapy in 6 hours.

* Operation Golden Flow, was initiated to during the Vietnam war to drug test soilders prior to their return. Lest they bring their addictions home and infect the citizens. Give the clerk that named the operation a medal.

The information is out there. The demonization of drugs, the racially based draconian drug laws that have spawned a prison industry and choaked the legal system and the utter futility of the drug war, but all of this is a tired rant so, back to the beds.

The RC bed website allows you to, "Find your sleep number." I felt I owed it to myself. Once I knew my number the possibilites seemed endless. "Where will your sleep number take you tonight?" I was hoping for the south of France or Bhutan.

The questionaire began with, "Step 1: About You and your Sleep Partner."

The terminology is really too much. It's really a nice catch all phrase. My sleep partner! I am currently without a sleep partner. My sleep number is a 45, 45 what I'm not sure. The unit of measure was not listed. Unfortunately, I will have to wait a little longer for my panacea as it is suggested that I stop by a store for a more accurate assesment of my number.
