It's there, let's use it up

The finger, it's for you Richard.

Representative Richard Pombo (R-CA)

Richard Pombo is a short sighted fool. If he has his way there will be oil platforms up & down the California coast. Pombo was profiled in the October issue of Men's Journal. I don't think the article will be appearing on his website. While cruising the site, don't miss the congressman's guacamole recipe.

"The whole thing about Pombo being anti-environment . . . How ridiculous a statement is that?"- Congressman Pombo

Well let's look at your record:

~ An advocate for opening the ANWR to oil drilling
~ Wants to sell National Forest & BLM land to private interests
~ Champion of the decidedly unhealthy "Healthy Forests" bill
~ Enemy of the Endangered Species Act, which admittedly is a flawed piece of legislation, but until a broader habitat based approach is implemented then let's leave it be

Then of course there's the question of ethics:

"He's raised $2.2 million (for his re-election bid), most of it from the oil, gas, real estate, agriculture, timber, and mining interests he regulates."

Yet another example of the need for campaign finance reform. Quite simply accepting money from interests that you regulate should be illegal. Hey Marlboro Man, reality check: you were elected to represent the people of central California, NOT big business.
