On the Road

While on the east coast, my father & I went to see Jack Kerouac's original, On the Road manuscript.

Unfortunately, only about 30 feet of the scroll was unrolled. Had the entire manuscript been unfurled, I would have stayed all day to read it from beginning to end.

A close second to being able to read the type that Kerouac laid down was that the exhibit inspired my father to read OTR for the first time.

The scroll will be at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum in Lowell, Massachusetts through October 14th 2007.

Next stop for the scroll is the New York Public Library (11/9/07-2/22/08) followed by the University of Texas, Austin (3/7/08-5/31/08).
